Police officers have been warned to exercise extreme caution when approaching members of two warring bikie gangs after feuding members were given “bash-on-sight” orders for each other and a Northbridge bar manager was threatened with a gun.

The dispute between the Comancheros and the Rebels had resulted in “shootings, drive-by shootings and bashings” and the violence also put the public at risk, a Perth court was told yesterday as police fought to keep a Comanchero member behind bars.

Nathan Norman Greenway is accused of pointing a “handgun-style revolver” at a karaoke bar manager last week when he was asked to pay $1000 for a damaged television as he tried to leave a private room.

He allegedly pulled out a gun, threatening Galaxy Lounge workers before he and another gang member fled in a taxi.

The 28-year-old has also been charged with fighting in public and causing fear over a brutal brawl outside the casino last month.

Mr Greenway was with other Comancheros when they ran into several Rebels bikies and went outside to fight. The court was told staff were too fearful to intervene in the violence, which included Mr Greenway being punched to the ground and stamped on.

The prosecutor told Perth Magistrate’s Court the Rebels and Comancheros had “bash-on-sight orders” for each other and that the gun Mr Greenway allegedly brandished in Northbridge had not been found. Mr Greenway was arrested early on Monday after he and another man were allegedly back at the Galaxy Lounge and were caught fighting outside.

He pleaded with the magistrate to give him bail, saying he had always abided by bail conditions and the last time he was in “real trouble” was four years ago and he “did two years for that”.

“I would just like to go home,” he said.

Despite police opposition, the magistrate granted bail on condition he not contact anyone linked to outlaw motorcycle gangs, did not possess a firearm, lived with his grandmother and abided by a night curfew.

He remained behind bars last night after being unable to raise the $5000 surety.

Officers, particularly those working in plain clothes and in unmarked cars, have been warned to be extremely careful when approaching bikies, who are on edge after a Rebels associate gunned down last month claimed he thought he was being stopped by police because the vehicle had a flashing blue light.
