ST. THOMAS -- Three of the eight people charged in the Bandidos biker massacre made brief court appearances via video link-up yesterday.

Two of the men arrested in Winnipeg last month -- Dwight Mushey and Michael Sandham, both 36 -- had their cases put over a week to next Friday.

Both Mushey and Sandham are charged with eight counts of first-degree murder in connection with the discovery of eight slain Bandidos bikers on April 8 on a quiet, rural road in Elgin County.

Other Bandidos slaying suspects, including Wayne Kellestine, 57, of Dutton-Dunwich, are also expected to make video appearances next Friday.

Sandham, a former Winnipeg-area police officer, has retained St. Thomas lawyer Keli Mersereau.

Mersereau told justice of the peace Len Obokata she expected some disclosure from the Crown and would be reviewing it with her client.

Eric Niessen, 44, of Monkton, who faces eight charges of accessory after the fact, had his case put over to July 14. All three men are in custody at the Elgin-Middlesex Detention Centre.
